Driver cited after rear-ending MTA maintenance vehicle in Cumberland

A maintenance worker with the Maine Turnpike Authority suffered minor injuries when their truck was rear-ended in Cumberland Friday morning.

The crash happened on I-95, leaving the maintenance vehicle in a ditch with significant damage.

Police say the other driver, 26-year-old Eric Sullivan of Lewiston, may have fallen asleep at the wheel and was cited for driving to endanger and other motor vehicle violations.

The maintenance worker, 61-year-old Robert Brown of Poland, was taken to Maine Medical Center with minor injuries.
