Eliot Cutler has once again been released from jail after a judge found no probable cause for a sixth alleged probation violation.
Cutler, who ran for Maine governor twice, was convicted on child porn charges in 2023.
He was arrested last week for failing to sign a document agreeing to participate in court-ordered treatment for problematic sexual behavior.
A superior court justice on Tuesday agreed to remove the treatment program as part of his probation conditions until court proceedings are resolved, saying it could leave him open to mistreatment.
According to the Portland Press Herald, Cutler’s probation officer asked for his probation to be revoked in February because he wasn’t participating in treatment.
At the time, Cutler was unable to take part in the treatment because he was being held in jail without bail.
