Lewiston Police Ask for Return of Items Mistakenly Taken from Closed Store

Lewiston police are asking for public help after items were taken from a condemned convenience store by people misled to believe they were free.

Officers say they were sent to a report Saturday of people removing items from Goshen Super Market LLC at 179 Lincoln Street.

They say they found out that members of the public believed items in the store were no longer wanted and were free for the taking.

Officers say the misunderstanding led to several people removing items

 Lewiston Police are requesting that any items taken from the store on Saturday be returned to 179 Lincoln St., any time between 12 pm and 4 pm, now through Friday.
