The man accused of stabbing and killing a Portland woman on the Back Cove trail pleaded not guilty at a bail hearing on Wednesday.
Glen Rodney is charged with murder for the death of Julian Nadeau, 21, on Aug. 5.
A witness says they were with Nadeau under Tukey’s Bridge when Rodney, 58, approached them, got into an argument with the group, and chased them before tackling and stabbing Nadeau.
Rodney is claiming self-defense, saying he was attacked and that they were trying to steal his bike.
If convicted, he faces 25 years to life in prison.
